Pharmacy Technician - In/Outpatient Bon

Work collaboratively with the pharmacist to organize workload and establish optimal workflow in the area/duties assigned to complete work as accurately and efficiently as possible. Prepare and label inpatient and outpatient medications for final review by a pharmacist in a timely manner. Perform final review of medications prepared by another technician via pharmacy automation to be dispensed to inpatient areas, such as unit dose carts and Omnicells, and fill and deliver unit dose carts timely and independently without secondary review. Resolve missing doses by collaborating with nursing and other personnel and deliver medications timely to assist with good patient care. Receive new stock and returned stock into inventory according to established policies, procedures and regulations regarding inventory record keeping. Perform order entry in the pharmacy software package by entering the correct drug, strength, directions, quantities, comments, provider, date, and other pertinent information into the associated patient profile. Identify basic therapeutic problems such as duplicate therapy with drugs in the same class and alert the pharmacist to the possible need for intervention. Correctly operate and maintain complicated pharmacy automation equipment including but not limited to ScriptPro, ScriptCenter, and unit-dose packaging equipment according to manufacturers' recommendations and established Standard Operating Procedures. Experience:
At least 2 years outpatient experience, automation experience (ie. Omnicell/Pyxis, ScriptPro), inpatient cart delivery and unit dose dispensing, customer service experience both in-person and over phone. WORK SCHEDULE:
Tour of Duty:
0830-1700 M-F (40-hour work week), and after hours as needed to meet the demands of patient care BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Citizenship. Citizen of the United States. (Non citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with Chapter 3, Section A, paragraph 3g, this part). Education or Experience. A high school diploma or equivalent. Certification. Certification by the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board(PTCB) is required at grades GS-6 and above. English Language Proficiency. Pharmacy Technicians appointed to direct patient care positions must be proficient in spoken and written English in accordance with Chapter 2, Section D, paragraph 5a, this part. GRADE REQUIREMENTS:

Experience:
To be creditable, Pharmacy Technician experience must be documented on the application and verified in an employment reference, or through other independent means. GRADE DETERMINATION:
In addition to the basic requirements for employment, the following criteria must be met when determining the grade of candidates:
GS-06 Experience. One year experience at the next lower level GS-5 or equivalent, and must fully meet the KSA's at the next lower level. In addition, the candidate must demonstrate the following technical KSA's and the potential to acquire the assignment specific KSA's designated by and asterisk( ). 1. Ability to solve problems and make recommendations, e.g., troubleshoot operational problems and refer for appropriate action. 2. Knowledge of the operation and care of automated equipment. 3. Knowledge of, and ability to follow, written instructions for compounding with aseptic technique for hazardous materials such as oncology agents. 4. Knowledge, and ability to perform, compounding with aseptic technique for routine sterile products. 5. Knowledge of policies and procedures for inventory management in specialized areas such as emergency carts. 6. Knowledge of the computerized prescription process demonstrated by the ability to input prescriptions and medication orders. Assignments. Pharmacy technicians may be assigned to any area of the pharmacy including expanded distributive function assignments; for example assignment as team leaders for specific process improvement teams involving technical areas or performing more highly complex duties including preparation of oncology agents for clinical pharmacy specialists. For all assignments above the full performance level, the higher-level duties must consist of significant scope, complexity (difficulty), and range of variety, and be performed by the incumbent at least 25% of the time. Physical Requirements:
This position involves sitting, standing, lifting and walking. Requirements include:
heavy lifting (up to 45 lbs. and over); moderate carrying (15-44 lbs.); repeated bending (up to 2 hours); straight pulling (up to 1 hour); pushing (up to 1 hour); reaching above shoulder; use of fingers; use of both hands.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
