providing front-line assistance to customers with questions or concerns, utilize computerized programs and databases to enter, modify, and retrieve sensitive information and various data into or from electronic medical records, scheduling systems, and/or reporting formats. Utilizes such programs and databases to make appointments in a clinical setting. Maintains patient confidentiality with written and verbal information, per HIPPA requirements. Applies discernment and sensitivity when performing tasks required to resolve issues accurately and timely. Facilitates any necessary follow-up to ensure satisfactory resolution. Work in a proficient and self-directed manner to accomplish a wide variety of tasks, to include setting priorities and coordinating work. Incumbent works under the supervision of the Medical Administration Supervisor; who makes assignments by defining the overall objectives, priorities, and deadlines; and assists with unusual situations that do not have clear precedents. The employee uses initiative and works independently within the framework established by the supervisor for carrying out recurring assignments; and refers specific problems not covered by the supervisor. For all assignments above the full performance level, the higher-level duties must consist of significant scope, administrative independence, complexity (difficulty) and range of variety as described in this standard at the specified grade level and be performed by the incumbent at least 25% of the time. Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Experience:
Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations carried out by administrative or professional personnel or substantive administrative support functions, i.e., internal activities or functions such as supply, budget, procurement or human resources which serve to facilitate program operations. Knowledge of Customer Call Center operations, policies, and procedures to include knowledge and skill in the setup, use, monitoring, analysis and reporting of Automated Call Distribution telephone systems, software, and data derived from those systems and software. Knowledge of Electronic Health Records, use of presentations to graphically display data, applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations. Evaluation, planning, direction and management of Call Center and Consult management activities. Managing clinic profile requests for the management of clinics including cancellations, protocols for cancellations, designing clinics, slot utilizations, reviewing the setup with workload for clinics and providers. Oversight of the planning and directing of administrative support activities relating to the efficient processing of a clinical section to include duties such as appointment management, consult management, electronic wait list management, return to clinic orders, veterans choice list, recall reminder management, and so forth OR, Education:
