RN - Bonham Domiciliary

Applications are being accepted for a RN position in Nursing Service in the Bonham Domiciliary, in Bonham, Texas as part of the Veterans Access Choice and Accountability Act (VACAA).
This is a 224 bed Domiciliary Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (DRRTP).
The DRRTP is an intensive 224-bed biopsychosocial rehabilitation program for veterans with potential for rehabilitation and medical management.
Veterans served typically have multiple areas of need (medical, post-surgical, psychiatric, and substance abuse).
Emphasis of the program is on the acquisition of skills, knowledge, attitudes, and habits that will foster successful community re-entry and management of chronic medical problems.
The position requires previous clinical experience, knowledge and skill in preventive health care and experience in coordinating complex care.
Minimum of two years of recent nursing experience in medical setting and a BSN preferred.
Ability to implement the self-medication program in the Domiciliary including ability to assess patient's comprehension of medication regimen, extensive assessment of the patient's eligibility to qualify for the self-medication program including extensive monitoring and documentation of patient's knowledge and compliance with medications.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Ability to tactfully deal with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
Ability to perform medical record reviews, collate and report review findings and monitor day-to-day operations/processes within the clinic setting.
Ability to perform abbreviated patient history and physical assessments, as well as data collection skills.
Must be able to work in a self-directed manner.
Collaborating and coordinating with health care professionals outside nursing service.
Ability to interact with multi-disciplinary groups as evidenced by active participation in Nursing Service unit level work-teams, special task forces and/or service level programs.
Ability to provide educational instruction to patients, families and staff.
Knowledge of and functional in CPRS, as well as proficiency in keyboarding and basic operations.
Must have the physical capabilities to initiate crisis intervention measures, transfer/transport patients and the ability and willingness to accomplish satisfactory training and performance in nursing care emergencies.
Willingness to cross train for working in all clinics is required and flexibility in assignment scheduling that may include working Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays and will require working flexible tours of duty.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
